Sandra Maria Teixeira, the Propagandist of the Northern Monarchy
Sandra Maria Teixeira was the genius behind the propaganda and publicity strategies of the Monarchy of the North, during the Winepunk War. The eldest daughter of the Count of Castelo Caído, a progressive merchant elevated to aristocrat, Sandra Maria Teixeira studied in Vienna, and was close to Edward Bernays, Sigmund Freud’s nephew who would sadly become known as a pioneer of modern tobacco advertising. When the Monarchy of the North began, the Bureau recruited her to coordinate the propaganda and publicity team for the monarchical forces. Sandra Maria Teixeira accepted on the condition of having total creative freedom. Her flapper-style advertising posters for various wine products became famous, establishing a visual identity that survived the disappearance of the Northern Monarchy. Her posters are now collectibles, appreciated for their delicacy and sensitivity that hide powerful psychological manipulation.
